Foxborough, MA, Movers

Foxborough is a city in Norfolk County of Massachusetts that was incorporated in 1778. Located about 22 miles from Boston and 73 miles from Cape Cod, a popular summer destination, Foxborough is ideally located. Logan airport is 31 miles away and the MBTA Commuter Rail, known as the "T," has a station in Foxborough as well.

Foxborough offers numerous attractions to locals and visitors alike. The Patriots Hall of Fame is a must-see if you're a fan of the illustrious football team. The interactive New England football museum allows you to relive their Super Bowl titles. Go, Patriots! While you are there check out Patriot Place, an ice skating rink for family fun.

For some outdoor adventure, visit the F. Gilbert Hills State Forest. The 1,027 acres are filled with pine and oak trees as well as dog-friendly hiking and biking trails. Some of the unique stone structures are believed to be made from native Algonquin tribes. Another fun trail our Foxborough movers love is the Nature Trail and Cranberry Bog.

For a little bit of history, visit the Foxboro Memorial Hall, a historic single-story granite Gothic structure originally built in 1868. There is also plenty to do downtown as well. Paint and indulge in some wine at Muse Paintbar; saluti! Or try an escape room at 5 Wits Patriot Place. Like archery? Ace Archer is a great place to practice. With so much to do, you are definitely going to want to move there. Be sure to call our Boston moving company to help you plan your move!

Patriots History

Our Foxborough movers understand how integral sports are to the culture of Massachusetts! Three major sports teams - the Celtics, Red Sox, and Bruins - all play their games within Boston's city limits and are near and dear to the hearts of all Bostonians. But did you know that the modest suburb of Foxborough hosts perhaps the most notable team in Massachusetts?

The history of the Patriots dates back to 1959 when the Boston Patriots were charter members of the American Football League. Clemson QB Harvey White was the first player to sign a Boston Patriots' contract and Lou Saban was the first head coach. But before the Patriots became the household name they are today, the owners held a public census to select their team mascot - "Patriots" was the overwhelming victor. They also announced their team colors as red, white, and blue. Boston University Field was the Patriot's first home, but their first win was at the Polo Grounds in New York when they defeated N.Y. Titans.

In 1970, the American and National Football League was formed, merging 26 teams into one league. The teams were split right down the middle between the American Football Conference and the National Football Conference.

Shortly after the new football league was established, Foxborough, Massachusetts was selected as the official site for the Patriots' new stadium and they renamed themselves the New England Patriots. They hosted football games at the CMGI Field. It wasn't until 2000 that Gillette stadium was constructed.

In 2008 there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Patriots Hall of Fame, the first of its kind to showcase the history of the New England Patriots. In 2010, the Patriots became the first team in history to score a touchdown five different ways - a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown, a kickoff return for a touchdown, blocking a field goal that was returned for a touchdown, and an interception return for a touchdown.

The New England Patriots have 11 American Football Conference (AFC) championships as well as 6 Super Bowl titles (2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, and 2019). Nine of the New England Patriots players have made it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

  • Andre Tippett(1982-1993)

  • Bill Parcells(1993-1996)

  • Curtis Martin(1995-1997)

  • John Hannah(1973-1985)

  • Junior Seau(2006-2009)

  • Mike Haynes(1976-1982)

  • Nick Buoniconti(1962-1968)

  • Randy Moss(2007-2010)

  • Ty Law(1995-2004)
